Terms of Service and Policies

Terms and Conditions

Please kindly note that as of 4 March 2022, I will no longer be working weekends. My working days will be Monday-Friday. Responding to emails, shipping and dyed to order timeframes will also exclude weekends. Thank you so much for your understanding.

  • All items on this website are offered subject to availability. To add items to your basket, click the 'Add to Basket' button shown under each item. To purchase an item proceed to the checkout and then click the 'Order Now' button. You will receive an automated e-mail confirming receipt of your order and details of your order. Your order represents an offer to us to purchase a product which is then accepted by us when we send e-mail confirmation to you. This email forms our contract with you. Your data is kept according to our privacy policy.

  • Once your order has been accepted, you will receive an automated ‘confirmation of order email’.

  • Once your order has been posted, you will receive an automated email advising your parcel is on its way.

  • Your package will be sent to the address that you provide at the time of order. Once your parcel is no longer in my possession, I cannot amend the delivery destination!

  • As a small business, Gathered Sheep Yarns reserves the right to make changes to products without warning. This includes pricing and descriptions on the website.

  • Prices and delivery costs are liable to change at any time, but changes will not affect orders that are already being processed.

  • Yarn lengths are approximate. All yarn is sold by weight.

  • Unfortunately, I am unable to accept custom orders.

  • Please note that colours can vary between monitors - I endeavour to photograph my yarn as accurately as possible and will add a note to the description if I feel there is significant variation.

  • When buying hand dyed yarn, it is advisable to buy as much yarn as you need for your project in one go. This is because I may not repeat the colourway you have chosen and even if I do, new batches could vary considerably from the original due to the nature of hand dyeing. If working from more than one skein of hand dyed yarn, it is advisable to work alternate rows from your skeins to ensure an even blending of colour.

  • Very occasionally, yarn that contains a large percentage of turquoise and/or green can leave small amounts dye residue on your hands during use. This is due to the chemical composition of that particular colour. Please be assured that the dye is fixed, but it would be advisable to wash the item separately the first couple of times.

Shipping/Refunds/Change of Mind Policy

  • I want you to be happy with everything you buy from me.

  • I will not refund the cost of you returning the goods to me unless they are faulty. (If this is the case, I may request photographic evidence of the fault in question.)

  • I do not offer swaps for unwanted goods. Nor will I accept yarn to be returned because you may have ordered too much.

  • If you want to send goods back, please contact me to advise what you are returning and the reason. I will need you to get a proof of posting certificate (free from your post office) and send the goods to the address below. If you do not obtain proof of posting and your parcel goes missing, I will not be able to refund you. I strongly advise you use a tracked and insured method of postage.

  • All requests for refunds must be made within 14 days of the goods being received by you. Refunds can only be made if the goods are in their original condition. Refunds will be made within 3 days of goods being received by me.

  • Parcels being returned from outside the UK must carry a customs label which clearly states that goods are being returned. If this is not made clear, there may be a return customs fee, which I regret I will be unable to pay. So please take this into account when you are are marking your parcel as being returned.

LOST PACKAGES

  • If you choose a non tracked and non insured service, you do so at your OWN risk. I will not be held liable for any loss or damage to your order once your parcel is outside of my care. I will NOT be able to provide you with a refund. Please, therefore, consider using a tracked and insured shipping service.

  • If you choose the tracked and insured service, and your parcel goes astray, or arrives damaged, I will be able to put forward a claim with Royal Mail on your behalf. This should enable you to receive a full refund for the price of the product. If a refund is agreed, you will not be credited until I have received the refund cheque from Royal Mail. Please be aware that this could take up to 3 months.

  • New EU regulations came into force 1 July 2021. Gathered Sheep Yarns is not VAT registered.
