Purchases from Gathered Sheep Yarns are not subject to UK VAT. However, if purchasing from outside the UK, you may be liable for tax, or customs/ import charges in your own country. Please note that I have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount. All charges are the responsibility of the customer; should you have any concerns, or questions, please check with your local customs and postal services for details of any potential charges before making a purchase.

The new regulations came into force 1 July 2021. Gathered Sheep Yarns is not VAT registered. In stock items are normally posted within 2-3 working days of the order being placed. However, during busy times of the year, this time frame may increase. I am unable to post orders on Public Holidays. Please also check individual listings for a specific shipping timeframe.

Dyed to order shipments will be posted within 14 days unless otherwise stated.

What if the total weight of my order is in excess of 2KG?

All overseas orders which weigh in excess of 2kg (Royal Mail small parcel maximum weight) including all packaging, will be sent in TWO separate delivery boxes at a cost of £50.00.

If you think your total order may exceed 2kg, but would like to check before placing your order, please send me an email.

Please kindly note that an order cannot be sent to a PO address if the method of shipping is “Tracked and Signed.”

If you don’t see your delivery destination please do contact me, I will be very happy to post almost anywhere!

I regret I no longer post to Germany due to LUCID, the packaging register. The register enables Germany to recycle any packaging that businesses post there. It requires me, as a business owner, to contribute towards the costs of processing and recycling postage materials.

Whilst it is free to register with LUCID, all businesses are also required to register with a dual systems provider who be will do the recycling in Germany for the consumer. It requires a business to pay an annual fee based on the weight and type of packaging they use over the year. Regrettably, at this time, I am unable to justify the fees and paperwork. However, I appreciate why this system is in place.

Once your order has been accepted, you will receive a ‘confirmation of order email’.

Once your order has been posted, you will receive a further email advising your parcel is on its way.

If your chosen method of shipping is tracked and insured, you will receive the tracking number along with your ‘item shipped’ email.

Your package will be sent to the address provided at the time of order. Once your parcel is on its way, I cannot amend the delivery destination!

Please note, I am unable to make ANY inquiries with Royal Mail regarding slow, or potentially lost post, until 20 working days have passed for Europe and 25 working days for the rest of the world. Royal Mail will not accept claims, or classify any post as missing, or lost until after the allotted time has lapsed. Please check with your local Post Office, or neighbour in case your parcel has been misdelivered.

The cost to post mail to the US in particular, has risen sharply. This is in part due to increases in USPS last mile policy. Royal Mail now treats the US as a separate zone with its own postal rate.
