In my opinion, Suffolk wool is much underestimated. It has a wonderfully rustic quality which looks delightful knit into outer wear garments. This super breed produces a yarn which is slightly grey in appearance and dyes well. It has been worsted spun to produce a softer yarn.

The wool is classified as a medium fibre with a medium handle and is therefore suitable for knitting near to the skin projects such as hats and shawls. Suffolk is a short wool fibre, which means it can shed a little hair.  I think many of us will be surprised at just how lovely this worsted spun yarn is!

The Suffolk wool I source is grown in the UK, then scoured and spun by a small independent UK Mill.
